The difference between cold-rolled and hot-rolled 304 stainless steel plates is as follows:
1. Board size specification
The thickness of 304 stainless steel cold-rolled plate is 0.3-3.0mm, and the commonly used dimensions of the plate surface are 1000 * 2000mm, 1219 * 2438mm, and 1500 * 3000mm. The length can be customized with coils;
The thickness of 304 stainless steel hot-rolled plate is 3.0-250mm, and the commonly used sizes of the plate surface are 1500 * 6000mm, 1800 * 6000mm, and 2000 * 6000mm. Special sizes can be customized for production.
2. Appearance color
The surface of 304 cold-rolled sheet is silver white, relatively smooth, and feels delicate to the touch;
The surface of 304 hot-rolled plate is dark, mostly brown, relatively rough, and does not feel as smooth as cold plate.
3. Production process
304 hot-rolled plate is produced according to the inherent process, with a relatively rough surface, large intergranular gaps, and high pore density. Therefore, it has good ductility and is suitable for secondary processing such as bending and rounding;
304 cold-rolled plate is produced by secondary rolling with rolling mills on the basis of hot-rolled plate. The pore spacing is very small, so it has strong hardness and strength, and its mechanical properties are very beneficial. However, its ductility is not as good as hot-rolled plate, so it is suitable for industries such as deep processing, exterior decoration, building decoration, machinery, and coalification.
