PPGI And PPGL Sheet

Conversion Coating of ppgi and ppgl sheet: A layer of inorganic crystalline thin film (such as phosphating or chroming film) formed on the substrate of ppgi and ppgl sheet after pretreatment. Its main function is to enhance the adhesion between the substrate and the coating, and improve the corrosion resistance of ppgi and ppgl sheet.

Primer for ppgi and ppgl sheet: typically an epoxy or polyester coating applied directly onto a chemical conversion layer. The main function is to further prevent the substrate of the ppgi and ppgl sheet from rusting, and to ensure good adhesion between the substrate of the ppgi and ppgl sheet and the topcoat of the ppgi and ppgl sheet.

Top Coat for ppgi and ppgl sheet: The outermost coating determines the color, gloss, texture, and most importantly, weather resistance, scratch resistance, and chemical resistance of the ppgi and ppgl sheet. Common types include:

·Polyester (PE): High cost performance, balanced weather resistance and processability, widely used.

·Siliconized Polyester (SMP): It has better weather resistance and durability than ordinary polyester, making it more suitable for outdoor construction.

·High Durability Polyester (HDP): It has better weather resistance than SMP.

·Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF): It has excellent weather resistance, UV resistance, and chemical resistance, as well as excellent light and color retention. It is commonly used in high-end buildings and harsh environments. Usually, the fluorocarbon content is above 70%.

Back Paint on ppgi and ppgl sheet: Typically, a thin layer of protective paint is applied, usually in dark green or white color, to provide basic protection and decoration for colored rolls.

Coating layer for ppgi and ppgl sheet: Some high-end ppgi and ppgl sheet will be coated with a plastic protective film on the surface when they leave the factory to prevent scratches during transportation and processing.

How to choose based on usage?

·Ordinary industrial plants and warehouses: Choose polyester (PE) for the best cost-effectiveness.

·Commercial buildings and residential exterior walls: Silicon modified polyester (SMP) or high durability polyester (HDP) are recommended for longer aesthetic retention time.

·High end landmark buildings, seaside areas, or areas with severe industrial pollution: Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) must be selected, although the initial cost is high, the lifecycle cost is lower.

·Products that require good sound insulation, thermal insulation, or deep stamping: plastic sol (PVC) can be considered.

In short, the paint film of color coated rolls is a carefully designed protection system, and its selection needs to comprehensively consider the usage environment, lifespan requirements, aesthetic needs, and budget. When purchasing, a detailed technical parameter table (MTC) should be requested from the supplier to ensure that the product meets project standards.
